Exhibit the natural history and cultural development of the high desert region through creative indoor and outdoor experiences, while minimizing the physical and visual impact of the buildings, and preserving the area's natural landscape.
Designer Notes
A cluster of simple, barn-like structures with extensive native stone and wood finishes integrates into the landscape, while the interior continues the palette of warm, natural materials. A broad gallery hall unites the museum exhibit rooms, creating spaces that are welcoming and intimate, as well as accommodating to large groups of people.
